This Privacy Notice explains how Sigma Belt Works (Pty) Ltd ("Sigma Belt Works", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use sigmabeltworks.com and our online training service (the "Service"). We are the responsible party / data controller for your personal information. We process personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and, where it applies to visitors in the UK and EU, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

Learning progress Which belts you have unlocked and your progress in the course. Stored locally in your own browser (localStorage) on your device.
Technical data Basic information such as IP address and browser type, used to deliver and secure the site. Automatically, via our hosting provider.

We do not collect or store your full payment card details. Card data is handled entirely by Paddle.

2. How we use your information

Our legal bases for processing (where GDPR applies) include performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the Service, and compliance with legal obligations. Under POPIA, we process on the equivalent grounds of contract necessity, legitimate interest, and legal obligation.

3. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed:

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

4. International transfers

Because our providers operate internationally, your information may be processed outside your country, including outside South Africa and the UK/EU. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by POPIA and GDPR.

5. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, including to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Order records held by Paddle are retained according to Paddle's own policies. Progress data stored in your browser remains on your device until you clear it.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal information, to restrict processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@sigmabeltworks.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in South Africa, the Information Regulator; in the UK, the ICO; or your local EU authority.

7. Cookies and local storage

The Service uses browser local storage to remember your progress and unlocked content. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this notice and provide any consent mechanism required by law.

8. Children

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it was last revised.
