Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 August 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at sigmabeltworks.com and the online training, content, and features offered there (the "Service"), operated by Sigma Belt Works (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of South Africa (registration number 2026/567272/07), whose registered address is 60 Colin Street, Uvongo Beach, Margate, 4270, South Africa ("Sigma Belt Works", "we", "us", or "our"). By purchasing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What we provide

Sigma Belt Works offers online Lean Six Sigma training and related educational content, organised into belt levels (including White, Yellow, and Green Belt), together with an AI-assisted coaching feature and practice project material. The Service is delivered digitally; we do not sell physical goods. Access to paid belt levels is granted after your payment is confirmed.

2. Payments and merchant of record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller, Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries relating to billing and handles payment processing, invoicing, and the collection and remittance of applicable taxes. When you make a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's buyer terms and privacy policy, available on paddle.com. Prices are shown at checkout and may be displayed in your local currency.

3. Access, accounts, and licence

4. Certification

Certificates or belt recognitions issued through the Service are awarded by Sigma Belt Works and reflect completion of our own program. This is an independent certification and is not affiliated with ASQ, IASSC, or any other body. You are responsible for confirming that our certification meets the requirements of any employer, institution, or third party you intend to present it to.

5. AI coaching feature

The Service includes an AI-assisted coach that generates responses to your questions. This feature is provided for general educational guidance only. AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete and does not constitute professional, legal, financial, or certification advice. You should independently verify anything you rely on. We may apply fair-use limits to this feature to keep it available to all users.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse or attempt to disrupt the Service; attempt to gain unauthorised access to content or accounts; circumvent access controls or payment; use automated means to extract content; or use the AI coach to generate unlawful, abusive, or harmful content. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

All content, materials, course structure, branding, and software making up the Service are owned by Sigma Belt Works or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the training will produce any particular result or outcome.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sigma Belt Works will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant belt level in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Refunds

Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa will have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@sigmabeltworks.com. For billing or payment enquiries, Paddle also provides support as merchant of record.
